Silas has been waiting to turn 5 since probably the week after he turned 4. He really wants "to be a grown-up" but I don't think he quite realizes that that other kids are getting older at the same rate as he is getting older. He just won't catch up.
We woke the kids a little earlier for school so that Silas could play with his new toy a little before school.
Big hit! We knew he would LOVE this (even though I got a little crazy looking for the Green Lantern version) since he got Superman last year. It feels a little bizarre buying Silas presents that only he will play with but we are glad we did. He plays so well - so chatty and busy.
Off to school! Silas's highlights for the day were handing out (sour key) candy at snack-time, doing a birthday book in his class (where his classmates draw him a picture of what they would like to give him as a gift for his birthday and practise writing his name) and a good-bye party for his (most loved!) JK teacher, Mrs.Cameron as she goes on Mat. leave (see a picture of her at Silas' birthday party in previous post).
After school snack! Ice-cream sundae... a little melty.
Silas blows out the fallen over candle.
Opa and Oma over for snack and some birthday love!
Then, we were off to Hamilton for vanBreda Christmas! And Silas got to blow out another candle with his cousins. Such a wonderful awesome day for Silas. He just seemed so pleased with his whole day.
Wow!!! Can you make children stop growing? I love them just as they are now!
