Joseph

The kids' school put on the play/musical "Joseph" this past weekend and it was awesome!  Many weeks of Saturday and after school practices, sleep overs and make-up removal tutorials later, our Reuben is a theatre-lover.  :)
Here Reuben is with his twelve brothers.  He is on the bottom right and is playing Asher.  The play is usually dominated by the grade 7 and 8s but Reuben and his best friend Ryan were the only grade 6ers in the play.  They had such a great time.
Action shot!  We sat in the balcony for both plays and it was fun to wave (and wave and wave and wave!) to Nadineke singing in the choir.
The choir sang so beautifully (also clearly and loudly and so full of energy!).  They had great songs and a terrific leader.  Nadineke is in the second right in the front.
Reuben and Ryan looking older than they should.  Sorry about the red-eye!  But, isn't it funny to see Reuben with eyebrows?!
The twelve brothers main song was a hip-hop rap song.  Reuben is there in the front.  It was so fun to watch and incredibly endearing.
The play was so good and I know I sound gushy but I was so proud of all the work and people involved in the play and so happy that my kids had such a positive experience with theatre and how it can glorify God.  Grateful.

  1. I really enjoyed watching the performance. The students did an excellent job--with all their acting, singing, choreography. They were all very enthusiastic! It was definitely worth the drive down! Staff and students put a lot of work into this, and they should be very proud of their efforts. I really liked that there were so many male parts--since there were 12 brothers! Great show!
