Reuben's Room.

Reuben's room had only one outlet, was cold and had no ceiling light.  It also was papered in flowers with some lovely lighthouses as a boarder.  His room is the first to be redone and we got started this holiday.  We emptied the room, moved Reuben into the boys' room in the backhouse (4 in there now, working great and Reuben is even sleeping WAY better back there.  We think it is the company) and the boys had fun peeling off the paper for fun.
We soon got those two working for real - a messy, dusty job of taking the lathe and plaster off the walls.  And behind that lathe? no insulation.  Just some great planks of wood and a brick wall.
We had Dave do some work, too!
The next steps are taking all the lathe off, the wood planks off, putting wiring in, insulation in and then some of the lathe and boards back on before we start drywalling.  We are are hoping to build a loft bed in this room (as it is pretty tiny) to use up some of that 12 foot wall space.  A good project for the new year - Reuben is pretty excited!

  1. No insulation at all? By the time you are done, Reuben will be as snug as a bug in a rug! It will look great, I'm sure!
