Bedtime Ritual.

The two (or three) youngest pick a book (or two) for me to read and Steve reads (right now it is "Watership Down") to the older two (or three... see how it is to be the middlest?)  Or Steve reads to everyone, or I read to everyone and they all pick a book.  Even if it is just the little kids books, the rest usually join in for the story.  They still all have their favourites.
Eli is the most insistant and worried if the tradition gets set aside because of a late night.  I have resorted to making up, "Eli and Silas" stories, which he LOVES, but he still wants a story read to him after that, too.
