Shoes On!

At 7:55 I call, "Shoes on!" and that means, "School kids, get your shoes and coats and backpacks on and head to the door!"  Since the lovely weather, Silas gets his things on, too, to hang out on the front porch and wait for the bus.  Eli very rarely joins us outside (school-avoider:)

Then, they wait by the door for me to open.  It is a very old door that uses an old key to unlock and if you push it too hard, a piece falls off on the outside.  Such a lovely old door...

I took pictures this day because Nadine decided to wear shorts!  She has not worn pants to school all winter but when it got hot, she decided to try... makes it much easier to climb and hang and fall!  So, the four kids are all wearing the same clothes this day - funny.

This picture was taken at 4:00, right when the kids came home.  The routine is come in, hang up your backpack and empty it, shoes off, uniform off.  But Silas and I had been to the library that day and the kids all just sat and read books right after their backpacks were off.  It was funny to see for me.  I guess Silas and I picked good books!
